6 Proven Strategies for Social Media Marketing Success

Social media marketing can be tricky to get right, especially when you’re first starting out. With so many platforms to choose from, it can seem overwhelming to determine the strategies that are right for your business and market. Don’t fret! To help you in this area, we put together six tried-and-true strategies for social media marketing success to help you grow your customer base and raise awareness about your brand. Let’s dive in!

Social Media Marketing Success

1) Have Goals

To be successful with social media marketing, you need to have a plan and specific goals in mind. What do you want to achieve? Who is your target audience? What platforms will you use? How often will you post? By taking the time to answer these questions, you can develop a strong social media marketing strategy that will help you reach your goals. You also want to consider what you hope your customer experience will be like after interacting with your posts. Consider what they might want or need when they get there. You should know why people are coming to your page and where they're going when they leave it. As a result, it's important to set expectations and then meet them as best as possible by creating engaging content.

2) Create Engaging Content

As a business, you know that creating engaging content is essential to your social media success. But with so many platforms and options, it can be tough to know where to start. It doesn’t matter if you use Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or Instagram - creating engaging content on each platform and promoting them in their native formats is very essential. The key to creating engaging content is to be authentic. You have to engage with your followers and give them value, or they’ll just tune you out.   Create original, informative and entertaining content. Create contests with prizes as well as other types of giveaways to boost engagement. Use visuals like photos, videos or infographics whenever possible to share information visually. And finally, leverage the power of hashtags by including relevant hashtags alongside keywords that are important to your company or industry (this will help people find you).

3) Commit to Consistency

If you want to see results from your social media marketing efforts, you need to be consistent. That means posting content regularly, engaging with your audience, and monitoring your metrics. One method to stay consistent is scheduing your posts ahead of time so that you don't have to worry about them later. You also need to engage with your followers by responding quickly or commenting on their posts. Checking out what's happening in the world of social media (including competitors) so that you can keep up with trends is also a key to being consistent with your content.  Tracking important topics related to your industry will help you find relevant news stories that are worth sharing. Consistency is an essential element of any successful business strategy, and this holds true for social media marketing as well. Again, to succeed, you need to commit to consistency. Remember: Content must be published on a regular basis; it's best if it is scheduled ahead of time as mentioned earlier.

4) Consider Hiring Help

When it comes to social media marketing, many business owners feel like they can handle it themselves. However, as your business grows, so does the demand on your time. You may find that you don’t have the time to commit to social media marketing the way you need to in order to see results. That’s when it might be time to consider hiring help.  Hiring a consultant or an agency is usually a good idea if you want to ensure that your social media marketing efforts are successful. A consultant will work with you to identify your goals and map out a strategy to achieve them. You can also hire an agency. An agency is usually more hands-on and will take charge of managing your social media accounts. They may even post content for you. Both consulting firms and agencies often offer retainer plans or monthly packages.  Paying a company to manage your social media marketing campaigns will save you money in the long run because it allows you to focus on other aspects of running your business. Even though hiring someone else to do this work costs money up front, it can pay off in the end! The Fiverr platform is a great resource for finding high quality social media marketing services. You can find services that will help you with everything from developing a social media strategy to executing it. Plus, you can read reviews from other buyers to get an idea of what you can expect.

5) Test and Track

It’s important to remember that not all social media platforms are the same. Different platforms serve different purposes and therefore require different strategies for every business. Once you have a social media strategy in place and are consistently publishing great content, remember that measuring results is an important part of improving your approach and performance. The best way to figure out what works best for your business is to test and track different approaches.  You can set up a control group of sorts by launching various posts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. See which posts garner the most engagement in terms of likes, shares, retweets, etc., then use those results to craft your own strategy for each platform. Once you know what posts work best for each platform, you can focus more energy there and eliminate wasted efforts on less successful posts.  For example, if one type of post on Facebook gets the most engagement, you should create similar posts for other platforms like LinkedIn or Instagram. And don’t forget about YouTube videos! YouTube videos have higher completion rates than other forms of video content. Plus they’re perfect for generating organic links back to your website from people who want to see related videos. Remember: One size does not fit all when it comes to social media marketing.  Measure, refine and repeat!

6) Have Fun!

You need to enjoy what you're doing even when it comes to doing social media marketing.  It's easy to get lost in the daily grind of your day job and lose sight of the reason why you do this work in the first place.  I'm not saying that it will be fun all the time, but you need to find a way to make yourself smile while at work! Remember: Your customers are humans too and they want a human experience when they interact with your brand.  Use Emojis: Nothing says I care about this post more than using emojis where appropriate. Who doesn't love cute little faces?

4 Types of Market Segmentation You Need to Know

Market segmentation is the act of dividing and subdividing your target market into smaller and smaller, more specific segments to identify which one will give you the highest return on investment for your product or service. To do this, you’ll need to choose from among four different market segmentation strategies that vary in how specific they are and how many segments they create. A segmentation strategy that may work best depends on your business goals and the industry you’re in, so be sure to consider all of your options before deciding what’s right for you. Demographic One of the most common ways to segment a market is by demographics. This can include factors like age, gender, income, education, and more. By understanding the demographics of your target market, you can better tailor your products or services to meet their needs. For example, if you’re selling baby clothing, then knowing that mothers with children in the 2-6 year old range are your target demographic will allow yo...
